Dr. Gupta

Sumati Gupta, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist and undergraduate psychology professor. She served on the full-time faculty at Barnard College, Columbia University for five years before her current role teaching part-time as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.
At Tribeca Psychology, she specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for the treatment of anxiety, eating/weight difficulties, loss & trauma, and infertility/IVF.
Dr. Gupta's research has focused on the ways in which people regulate their emotions after experiencing traumatic events or while experiencing eating disorder symptoms. She has co-led empirical studies and published several peer-reviewed papers on these topics.
Dr. Gupta completed her BA at Duke University, PhD at Columbia University, and clinical internship at NY Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical College where she received advanced training in the Cognitive Therapy Clinic and Eating Disorders Center.
