Almost everyone experiences some kind of loss or traumatic event in their life. The death of someone close to you, divorce, miscarriage, or abuse are all experiences that can lead to saddness, hopelessness, anxiety, or lonliness. Dr. Gupta's research, working alongside Dr. George Bonanno, has shown that most people are able to cope with such emotions and resume a normal life.
Therapy can provide a space to process negative emotions and learn strategies to better deal with everyday stressors between sessions. Our first goal is to help with the immediate issues that are bringing you to therapy using techniques supported by scientific research. Then therapy can also offer a space to better understand how your emotions may be related to broader aspects of your life.
